Admin Team
Purpose
The purpose of the Administrative Team is to promote the mission and vision of FNU by creating and maintaining a high quality, effective, efficient, and satisfying academic experience for students of the University.
Functions
- Recommends new and reviews/revises existing academic policies taking into consideration.
- Student success
- Regulatory compliance
- Financial implications
- Evaluates and makes decisions regarding student variances from university policies.
- Ensures student due process in accordance with university policies.
- Collaborates and builds consensus with FSC and other shared governance units as appropriate.

Admissions Committee
Purpose
To provide oversight of the Admissions process at Frontier Nursing University.
Functions
- Formulates and reviews policies and criteria for admissions to all programs at FNU, making recommendations to the FNU Board of Directors as appropriate.
- Selects applicants for admission to the programs.

Communications Committee
Purpose
The Communications Committee collaborates with FNU stakeholders to support internal communications.
Functions
- Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to improve institutional communication processes.
- Reviews and develops communication guidelines for the University.

Culture of Caring Committee
Purpose
The Culture of Caring Committee identifies, designs, and supports initiatives to support the Culture of Caring throughout the University.
Functions
- Identifies, designs, implements, and evaluates community-wide initiatives and programming to support FNU's Culture of Caring.
- Supports other FNU community groups in identifying, designing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives that support FNU's Culture of Caring.

Curriculum Committee
Purpose
The curriculum committee is responsible for developing, reviewing, and evaluating the University’s curriculum. The curriculum committee oversees the curriculum process by coordinating, maintaining quality control, and motivating the process of curriculum review and development. Specific duties include consideration of new courses, course changes, program changes, and providing oversight of the quality of courses and program offerings.
Functions
- Develops, reviews, and evaluates curriculum.
- Reviews and evaluates all courses of the curriculum.
- Reviews and evaluates program curricula in relation to national standards for graduate education and FNU requirements.
- Reviews student evaluations of the courses.
- Ensures that the curriculum adequately addresses the core competencies for each specialty concentration.

Diversity & Inclusion Committee
Purpose
The Diversity & Inclusion Committee develops, promotes, and provides programs and resources to enhance diversity throughout the university and healthcare workforce.
Functions
- Recruit and retain students, faculty, and staff representative of the diverse communities in which they live and will serve.
- Provide opportunities and resources for students, faculty, and staff to enhance an understanding of diversity and inclusiveness.
- Promote the advantages of a culturally diverse and inclusive workforce to improve the delivery of healthcare.
- Encourage innovative approaches to culturally competent client care.
- Support mentoring and leadership development needs of diverse populations within the FNU community.
- Advocate for legislative initiatives to foster increased diversity within healthcare.
- Foster collaborative relationships with other institutions and agencies to promote diversity and inclusion.
- Recruit, retain, and graduate more students of color (non-white) to help combat overall health disparities.
- Secure resources to support these stated functions.

Educational Technology Committee
Purpose
The Educational Technology Committee evaluates, recommends, and encourages appropriate technology utilization for teaching and learning and oversees and implements technology initiatives.
Functions
- Reviews current technology tools used for teaching and learning.
- Evaluates new technology tools proposed for teaching and learning.
- Provides recommendations and feedback for proposals and implementation of new educational technology.
- Provides feedback on lifecycle use/evaluation of implemented educational technology.
- Researches emerging technology tools and trends for teaching and learning and best practices and reports back to community at large as appropriate.
- Performs consensus building, sponsorship, and socialization of key teaching and learning technologies

Facilities Planning Committee
Purpose
The Facilities Planning Committee helps to shape the physical character of Frontier Nursing University by ensuring that facilities are functional, inviting and well-maintained.
Functions
- Reviews proposed capital project budgets and recommends the budget to the President’s Cabinet and the Facilities Committee of the FNU Board of Directors.
- Periodically evaluates existing facilities and maintenance goals.
- Monitors key facilities projects and gives input on key decisions.
- Establishes standards for FNU facilities regarding elements that affect the look and quality of furnishings and finishes.
- Reviews and approves facilities acquisitions or disposals.
- Evaluates and resolves facility-related issues of environmental or safety concern.

Faculty Staff By-Laws Committee
Purpose
The Faculty/Staff Bylaws Committee is responsible for assisting all shared governance entities with current bylaw implementation and recommended revisions as necessary to meet the changing needs of the University.
- Annually reviews and makes recommendations for revision of the bylaws as necessary to meet the changing needs of the University.
- Advises standing committees on implementation of bylaws or necessary revisions to meet the changing needs of the University.
- Reviews proposed new Standing Committee requests and makes recommendations to the Faculty/Staff Council.

Leadership Committee
Purpose
The purpose of the Leadership Committee is to promote the mission and vision of FNU by creating and sustaining a mutually beneficial, effective, satisfying, and supportive environment for all employees of the University.
- Improves communication among supervisors.
- Improves consistent application of policies among supervisors.
- Recommends new and reviews existing human resources and general policies.
- Collaborates and builds consensus with the Faculty/Staff Council and Administrative Team.
- Selects and implements leadership development training annually.
- Maintains and reviews the faculty/staff suggestion box.
- Encourages employee engagement in the university community.

Library Committee
Purpose
The Library Committee advises the library faculty and staff on various library operations.
Functions
- Acts as a liaison between user groups and the Library.
- Establishes Library policies.
- Reviews major changes in the Library system or operations.
- Makes recommendations for allocation of the Library budget.
- Assists in the recommendation, review, and selection of materials for purchase.
- Reviews library surveys related to Library function and consumer satisfaction.
- Provides guidance on the development and promotion of the Frontier Digital Depot.

Marketing Committee
Purpose
The Marketing Committee advises the marketing staff on various University marketing functions.
Functions
- Provides guidance, recommendations, and feedback to marketing team on proposed recruitment, advertising, and promotions plans to drive awareness, inquiry, enrollment and loyalty to the university.
- Supports the marketing team in developing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of Frontier Nursing University marketing strategies, communications and public relations activities.
- Ensures that the university’s history, mission, and vision are captured and communicated to all audiences with consistency and via a variety of media sources, including print, electronic, television and social media.

Mission and Philosophy Committee
Purpose
The Mission/Philosophy Committee reviews the University’s mission, vision, and philosophy statements and the philosophies of each of its departments and academic offerings. The committee makes recommendations for revision as necessary to ensure alignment and/or to meet the changing needs of the University.
Functions
- Reviews mission, vision, and philosophy of the University annually.
- Reviews philosophy of each department and academic offering annually.
- Makes recommendations for revision of mission and philosophy statements as necessary to ensure alignment and/or to meet the changing needs of the University.

Rank, Appointment, and Promotion Committee
Purpose
The Rank Appointment and Promotion Committee develops and revises criteria and policies for rank appointments and rank promotions. It is responsible for reviewing applications and recommending faculty rank promotions.
Functions
- Develops and revises Rank, Appointment, and Promotion criteria and policies.
- Reviews applications for faculty promotions and makes recommendations to the Dean.

Research Committee
Purpose
The Research Committee develops, promotes, and provides programs and resources to enhance scholarship throughout the university.
Functions
- Assists faculty, students, and staff with scholarship and the development of scholarly projects. (e.g. identification of questions, possible methodologies, and review of proposals).
- Promotes collegiality amongst faculty and interdisciplinary colleagues to collaborate on scholarly endeavors.

Retention Committee
Purpose
The Retention Committee evaluates and implements retention strategies and programs that support those strategies.

Identify, implement, and evaluate strategies and programming designed to improve student retention in support of the overall mission and vision of the University.

Scholarship Committee
Purpose
The Scholarship Committee establishes and awards scholarships for FNU students.
Functions
- Establishes criteria for the awarding of scholarships.
- Establishes scholarship amounts for subsequent year.
- Collaborates with the Director of Development to seek moneys for scholarship funds.
